At St. Stephen‘s House, University of Oxford
For Children 10-13 Years

“a magical summer programme with
English classes, workshops, sports
and cultural excursions.”

Welcome

Welcome to our Junior English Programme (JEP) taking place in July and August each summer in the magical surroundings of Oxford, UK. With its action packed combination of classes, cultural activities, excursions and social events, the JEP offers young learners the perfect summer language experience. Students attend the JEP from all over the world and for many it is their first time away from home. Our friendly staff make sure that students feel completely at home and at ease with their surroundings.

In the classroom, students are streamed by English proficiency and taught in small, fun groups of no more than ten per class.

Outside of the classroom, students take part in a wide range of cultural, sporting, musical and theatrical activities in the grounds of the College and the city. The JEP also includes sightseeing tours to places of historic interest, such as Blenheim Palace, North Leigh Roman Villa, Warwick Castle and Stratford upon Avon.

About the Junior English Programme (JEP)

The Complete English Language Experience

This programme is for young children aged between 10 and 13 years. It is a residential language immersion experience combining English classes with a range of extracurricular activities. Full board accommodation is included, along with all teaching, sightseeing and evening social events.

International Environment

Students come from all over the world, and stay for 2 to 8 weeks on the campus of St. Stephen‘s House. The campus is perfect for young learners, with a historic feel that tends to encourage learning and motivation. The gardens of the College are perfect for chilling out in free time and breaks.

Mixing with Fluent Speakers

English Learners mix each day with fluent English speakers from another summer programme (Young Prodigies) and this encourages all students to speak in the same tongue, English.

Just 40 Students

The total number of students staying in St. Stephen‘s House is only forty, which means that every student is known by name. With such a small group, our staff members are able to give their individual attention and time to each student, making sure that he or she feels at home and secure.
