Who is this course for? The importance of strong SAT grades is evident for students wanting to apply to American Universities. Over the summer months our two or four week SAT preparation courses give students aged 16+ the opportunity to study with tutors from the Princeton Review in order to reach their potential in this test. The course systematically fine-tunes each of the three sections of the test: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Throughout the course, examination practice will be given, with detailed feedback from the tutors. Who will be teaching me?
How will this course help me with my SATs? The course is structured in small groups with a maximum of four students to one tutor. This means that students will receive individual attention for their learning needs. We aim to organise these groups so that students share tutoring with those who have similar needs, and interests. As part of the course students receive:
Where will I stay? The course offers students full board at St. Catherine’s College a relaxed and informal college located a short walk from the University Parks and close to the shops and cafes of central Oxford. It is located right on the banks of the river Cherwell and has some of the best college facilities in Oxford. Facts about the college Affectionately known as ‘Catz’, its roots are in a small foundation started in 1868 to make education in Oxford available without the costs of college membership. Unlike more traditional Oxford Colleges, which have most buildings centred around ‘quads’ (grass quadrangles), St. Catherine’s is more gardens than buildings, with the biggest team of dedicated gardeners in Oxford and is consequently a true delight to study in during the summer. Students are accommodated in light and spacious rooms overlooking the gardens. Famous alumni include the American author of Catch-22 Joseph Heller, Actress Emily Woof and quadruple Olympic gold-medalist, Matthew Pinsent. Accommodation: St. Catherine’s College Single rooms on the campus are provided, which are modern, homely and well lit. The rooms are within short walking distance of the teaching rooms, dining hall and computer room. Internet access is available in the bedrooms with the appropriate cables. There is a common room with TV, pool table and comfy chairs for relaxing in the evenings. Arriving and Departing Students arrive on a Sunday and depart on a Saturday. The first event is the Welcome Reception for students and parents at 5 pm on the Sunday of arrival. The last commitment is breakfast on the Saturday of departure.
