Accommodation details
Students will be accommodated in single and twin rooms which are standard undergraduate bedrooms. Bathrooms are shared between a few students. Male and female students will be separated by corridor and/or staircase.
Safety and security on campus
In the college students are overseen by the Programme Director, who implements the day-to-day running of the programme. The Director is assisted by a team of Counsellors who very often are current members of the University of Oxford or University of Cambridge.
The Counsellors ensure that students are looked after pastorally, culturally and socially during their programme. Students are able to talk informally and frankly to the Counsellors in order to raise concerns or to discuss university applications.
Each campus has a few members of residential staff who live in the college throughout the programme and are able to assist students at any time of the day or night.
About St. Peter's College
St. Peter’s is one of Oxford University’s youngest colleges. It was founded in 1929 as an independent hostel for students with the aim of providing low-cost education. In 1961, St. Peter’s became a college of the University.
The College site includes a combination of different styles of architecture, with a mixture of traditional and modern buildings. The College has an intimate and friendly atmosphere. Recently the College has been very proud of success in its sports teams, especially the boat club.
Some of the most well known alumni of the College have included:
- Edward Akuto-Addo, (former Prime Minister of Ghana);
- Simon Beaufoy, (Oscar-winning writer of the screen play for “Slumdog Millionaire”);
- Ken Loach, (film director);
- Carl Albert, (former speaker of the United States House of Representatives).
St. Peter’s is located right in Oxford’s city centre on New Inn Hall Street.
