Weather and Clothing The weather in July and August is normally beautiful in Oxford. However, British weather is renowned for its unpredictability and we recommend bringing a warm set of clothing and waterproofs for the odd chilly or wet evening. Up-to-date weather reports can be found on www.weather.co.uk. Personal Security Oxford is generally a very safe City and all our programmes take place in secure, supervised premises. The College entrances are supervised round-the-clock by College “Porters” and CCTV cameras. All the College offices have a safe where students can store passports, personal documents and other valuables. All students under 18 must ‘check in’ regularly during the day, for example at 8:00 am for role-call, then with their teachers at morning classes, then in the afternoon for activities, at dinner and again in the evening before curfew (which depends on age). The crime rate in Oxford is low and the city is generally a very accepting and safe city, though we advise students to adhere to the following:
Emergencies Each campus has its own 24 hour emergency telephone number. This number can be used by a student needing to contact a member of staff or for family trying to contact a student. In the case of an emergency it is vitally important that we have the right contact details for students and their families, so please ensure that all contact information you give us on registration is correct and up-to-date. If for some reason this information should change you must let us know. Local Police Station Thames Valley
