Staff who have worked for ORA in the past and would like to bring the benefit of their experience to our courses again this summer should register their interest here. Once you have filled in the form you will be included in our summer staff selection process.
 
Campus staff

Programme Director

 

The Programme Director (or "PD") is the most senior staff member on campus who oversees all aspects of the summer school. The PD is in overall charge of the Junior Deans, Counsellors and support staff all of whom play an important role in organising and implementing the summer school.   

Campus Administrator

 

The Campus Administrator (or "CA") is in charge of running the campus office. The CA deals with both student and parent support issues ranging from administrative, to academic, to pastoral and logistical. CAs need to be extremely organised, efficient and have experience working in a busy office environment.   

Junior Dean

 

The Junior Dean (or "JD") is responsible for leading a team of Counsellors in the implementation of the summer school programme as well as making sure all students are entertained, safe and happy. JDs are friendly, organised and skilled in the management of student and staff issues that arise.   

Counsellors

 

Leading activities, events and excursions, the Counsellors will be at the heart of the programme, advising and guiding the students throughout their stay in the UK. Counsellors will help students get to lessons, take students on excursions and organise social events for the evenings and weekends.   
 
Academic staff

Director of Studies for  EFL/ESL

 

The Director of Studies (or "DOS") for EFL/ESL subjects is in overall charge of the English as a Foreign Language Department. The DOS will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning, placement of students in the correct classes and running professional development sessions.   

Director of Studies for  Academic Subjects

 

The Director of Studies (or "DOS") for Academic Subjects is responsible for ensuring the highest standards in the delivery of the academic and cultural courses. The DOS will guide staff in their interpretation of course materials, run regular staff meetings and assist teachers with any concerns.   

Teacher EFL/ESL

 

Our EFL teachers teach for approximately 15 to 21 hours each week following the ORA syllabus and adding their own material where appropriate. Teachers will need to hold at least a CELTA/TESOL or equivalent qualification in accordance with the British Council requirements.   

Teacher - Academic Subjects

 

Our talented and experienced academic teachers run classes for students of all ages in a wide variety subject areas. We invite applications from teachers from all backgrounds, whether primary school, secondary school or university.   

Academic Assistant

 

Working closely with the DOS, the Academic Assistant will ensure the smooth running of the academic office through the provision of basic administrative support. This role involves dealing with paperwork and would suit someone who generally enjoys working in an academic environment.  
 
Head Office - Temporary Positions

Head Office Administrator

 

Head Office Administrators will work in one of the central departments, which may include registrations, programme coordination or finance. They will be involved in the central running of all of the programmes throughout the summer.     

Summer Events Coordinator

 

The Summer Events Coordinator will be in charge of the planning and organisation of the evening social events for all of our students. This role requires a high level of organisation and attention to detail.   

Summer School Runner

 

 Working with all departments of the summer school the runners are essential to the smooth running of the programmes. Based in the head office the team of runners work tirelessly to ensure that all departments are prepared, supplied and  supported throughout the summer.
