The City of Oxford

The International Study Centre is situated just 15 minutes from Oxford’s vibrant city centre.

Students are actively encouraged to use our excellent location to attend Oxford’s public lectures and visit its exhibits and libraries. This is in addition to the fantastic shopping opportunities and entertainment that the city has on offer throughout. Quoted by the famous poet, Matthew Arnold, as being “The City of Dreaming Spires”, Oxford is still to this day an awe-inspiring city for all of those who visit.

From tours of the city to the remarkable architecture of the university buildings, to the seemingly endless number of theatre productions and live music acts; Oxford has it all. Quaint and classic and yet surprisingly modern and forward-thinking, students experience something quite unique when studying in Oxford. The city itself has a population of just 150,000 people, but it is widely known to be one of the fastest growing cities in the UK. It is also proud to be one of the most ethnically diverse cities within its region, demonstrating its multicultural and liberal attitudes.

Not only is the city itself a lively and fascinating place to be, but it is also conveniently close to London. With just a one-hour bus journey separating the two cities, students have the enviable opportunity to visit the capital in a single day to broaden their horizons further while studying in the UK. In terms of what London has to offer, entire books could be written on the subject and still the surface would remain largely untouched. London is renowned for its high-status governmental buildings, marvellous skyscrapers, being the home of Her Majesty the Queen and its breathtaking history, to name but a few. Combine this with its immense cultural activities and excellent services, and you have a special city indeed. All of this is just a short journey away when staying in the city of Oxford, making it a prime location for anyone seeking new and invigorating experiences.
