Our Law programmes are available in both Oxford and Cambridge, two cities with a long and distinguished pedigree of legal excellence. Students live and study in Oxford or Cambridge college accommodation: the perfect scholarly environment in which to take your academic career to the next level. The beautiful white-brick buildings of these colleges evocatively add the atmosphere of academic excellence which inspires our students to excel themselves. Their beautiful city centres, meanwhile, are the perfect size for a short stay, with plenty to explore and discover.

Give your law school applications the edge

On our Law School Preparation programme, in particular, students focus on honing the necessary skills to secure a place in a reputable Law school and – ultimately – a top Law firm. Even our younger students are encouraged to consider what a career in Law entails, and which skills can be developed while still at school. The expert faculty we employ during the summer have extensive experience of applications, and the guidance they are able to give to their charges could be the difference in determining the course of an ambitious student’s career.

Experience the Law in Action

Depending on age and programme choice, students will have the opportunity to experience a variety of subject-specific activities and excursions. From witnessing a real criminal trial at a London court to working on moots and mock trials back in the classroom, each student will leave ORA with a clearer sense of how the UK legal system operates. These trips help to foster a genuine interest in the day-to-day reality of life as a legal practitioner, and students are often left profoundly impressed by the displays of professionalism they witness in these real-life environments. Our trips are a brilliant reason to attend one of our legal courses!

Learn what it takes to be a lawyer

Law is a highly demanding and desirable profession, so we seek to provide students with valuable insight into what a top Law school or Law firm requires of its applicants. We aim to provide a realistic sense of what a legal career involves, as well as a strong set of transferable skills that will be of equal use at school and in the workplace. These practical skills and experiences are highly valued at the point of application for higher study, making the experience gained on an ORA summer course potentially invaluable.

Make Valuable Connections

An ORA Law summer course is the ideal place to forge connections with other budding lawyers, and share your experiences of and enthusiasm for the subject. It’s not all work, either – when not in class you will have the opportunity to enjoy ORA’s signature parties and a variety of workshops and excursions! Some of the friendships made on ORA summer courses have lasted long into adult life for our students – the sort of connections of which many universities would be proud. Of course, the value of fruitful tutelage by our teachers shouldn’t be underestimated, either.
