ORA sponsor and attend the WYSTC in Edinburgh

The 27th World Youth and Student Travel Conference took place last week in Edinburgh, and we were delighted to have the opportunity both to sponsor the event and to attend it.

This event brings youth and student travel focused businesses together for trading, networking, and socialising, with 600 industry professionals from the global travel market in attendance. It was a brilliant opportunity to meet with other professionals from the study abroad industry and to tell them all about our fantastic summer schools.

ORA proudly sponsored the WYSTC event.

This allowed us to meet new clients and further spread the word about our award-winning summer schools and gap year programmes. We met with new, and familiar faces, including the co-founder of our partner platform, GoOverseas.com, Tucker Hutchinson. GoOverseas.com – among other things – hosts reviews of study abroad companies, and we’re thrilled to have a 95% rating and many 10/10 reviews.

The conference kicked off with a fabulous welcome event hosted at the superb Mansfield Traquair, with the opportunity to network and find out more about the travel industry, ready for the week ahead.

While most of the time was spent meeting with delegates and potential partners in exclusive meetings, during the week our Partner Relationship Manager, Joe Parton, got the chance to attend seminars where leading industry professionals shared their expertise and latest trends, as well as participating in a workshop about studying abroad.

“I was proud to represent ORA at such a well organised event. It was a pleasure to meet so many fellow delegates from across the globe” – Joseph Parton, Partner Relationship Manager”

A particular highlight for the week was the Global Youth Travel Awards ceremony, held in the spectacular venue of the National Museum of Scotland. The Global Youth Travel Awards (GYTAs) formally recognise outstanding performers in several areas across the global youth, student and educational travel industry. We shared a table with youth travel employees of nine different nationalities – it felt almost as diverse as an ORA summer school.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the WYSTC and we can’t wait to develop the partnerships and networks from the week further.

Joe meets with industry professionals from around the world.
