Adults – Enrichment Activities

Throughout students' time on the Adult Summer School, they will enjoy a wide range of enrichment activities and events to further their academic studies and cultural experiences.
Please note that these are example enrichment activities, which may change from year to year and vary according to age group and locations.

Debates

To enhance fundamental leadership skills, students on Adult Course participate in a series of debates throughout their stay. First, they are taught the essential skills necessary to form convincing arguments and how best to present ideas coherently. After they have understood the theory, practical workshops stage debates to allow students to interact with their newfound knowledge and refine their skills.

Bodleian Library Induction

Students on ORA’s Adult Courses are presented with the opportunity to enter the world-famous Bodleian Library. With an Induction featuring key insights into the renowned building from staff and an understanding of how to access the collections, pupils are provided with top academic access to the world-famous Library.

Life Skills Sessions

A selection of evening Life Skills workshops present those on ORA’s Adult Courses with a set of extra-curricular skills to enhance their Summer School experience. From Art tours in Oxford to help with interview practice, these practical sessions provide a culturally enriched programme.

Guest Speakers

A selection of fascinating and varied guest speakers ensure that students on ORA’s Adult Courses are given a rounded educational experience. With past talks from conservational scientists, adventurers and writers, the scope and depth of guest speakers is impressive and they are continually well-received.
